On 2 November we bring the curtain down on the 2026 season. It’s been one of those years that stays with you, like salt on your skin after a day at the beach. But we won’t pretend otherwise: here at Hotel Torre del Mar, we’re already counting down to our return.
We reopen on 24 March 2027, and it’s no ordinary date. Our first weeks of the season coincide with the moment Ibiza becomes the Mediterranean’s finest open-air gym: longer days, mild temperatures, quiet trails and a calendar of sporting events that gets under way almost as soon as we open our doors.
Why spring is the best time for sport in Ibiza
If you’ve ever gone for a run here in August, you’ll know what it’s like to be hunting for shade by nine in the morning. Spring is a far more pleasant affair. The sun keeps you company without overdoing it, the countryside is green, the roads are free of traffic and you’ll practically have the trails to yourself.
A while back we shared our pick of the best outdoor sports in Ibiza: hiking, running, cycling, kayaking, paddleboarding… In spring, every one of them fits the bill. And if there’s a race number with your name on it, that’s one more reason to head to Ibiza (and a great excuse to stay on the island a few extra days).
Ibiza’s sports calendar: spring 2027
Take note, because there are events for every taste and level. We gave you a sneak peek of some of them in our Ibiza wellness & active guide, but 2027 comes with a few new additions. Bear in mind that some dates are still awaiting official confirmation, so check each event’s website before you finalise your trip.

39th Ruta de la Sal Regatta (25–28 March). A Mediterranean Easter classic. Yachts set sail from Barcelona (around 140 nautical miles) and Dénia (around 120) bound for Ibiza, while the Micro Ruta de la Sal brings together the autonomous sailing boats. Even if you’re not sailing, watching the sails arrive on the island is quite a sight. Info & registration
24th Vuelta a Ibiza MTB Scott by Shimano (26–28 March). Three stages and 180–200 km in total across dirt tracks, country lanes and the pine forests of the island’s interior. The best way to discover Ibiza by pedal power. Info & registration. ibizabtt.com
Cursa Patrimoni Eivissa (28 March, provisional date). An officially certified 10K on a fast city-centre course, plus the Toni Costa Balanzat 5K and children’s races. Ideal if you’re travelling as a family, because here everyone gets to run. Official website. Registration
Insider tip: that first weekend falls during Easter Week. If you fancy combining sport with local traditions, it’s the perfect time to discover Ibiza at its most authentic. Just be sure to book well in advance.

Ibiza Half Marathon (3 April). 21.097 km on a course certified by the RFEA (Royal Spanish Athletics Federation), from Sant Josep to Ibiza Town. Its favourable profile makes it a strong contender if you’re chasing a personal best. Info & registration
Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon (10 April). It’s turning 10, so expect a special edition. Choose between the marathon (42.195 km), 22K or 12K, and there are children’s races too. Info & registration
Trail Port Sant Miquel (mid-April, provisional date). For those who prefer dirt to tarmac: routes of around 10 and 21 km along the north coast, the wildest stretch of the island. Tough climbs and views that will stop you in your tracks, if only for a second. Info & registration
With just a week between the Half and the full Marathon, April calls for a longer stay: if you’re coming to run one, stick around to cheer on the other or simply soak up the atmosphere.

44th Milla Urbana Isla de Ibiza (May, date TBC). An all-out urban mile (1,609 metres) plus open races across categories. Short, intense and with a brilliant atmosphere. Info & registration
1/2 Marató de Formentera & 8K (15 May). A half marathon (21.097 km) and an 8 km race between Sant Ferran and La Savina. Formentera is just half an hour by boat from Ibiza port: the perfect excuse to get to know our neighbouring island. Info & registration

After crossing the finish line, there’s nothing better than heading back to a place where everything is designed around you. From Hotel Torre del Mar, Ibiza Town (finish line of the Half Marathon and home to the Cursa Patrimoni) is just minutes away, as is the port where boats leave for Formentera.
In the days before your race, our state-of-the-art gym helps you keep your rhythm, and if you’re bringing your bike, our complimentary Bike Centre is your own private workshop for storing it and getting it race-ready. Mornings start with a full, healthy breakfast, the kind that gives you real energy.
Then comes the best part. A dip in the heated outdoor pool, a water circuit or a massage for tired legs at Sal Rossa Spa, followed by dinner overlooking the sea at Restobar Miramar to refuel.
For the very best conditions, join the Torre del Mar Friends Club. You’ll always get the best guaranteed rate and free access to Sal Rossa Spa. When you book in advance, you’ll also enjoy discounts on car hire and on spa massages and treatments. Ideal for reaching the start line with fresh legs and getting them back afterwards.
See you at the starting line.
